Kiosk

Kiosk

Introduction

  1. If your building has a VRPAccess kiosk, guests will be able to self-print "registered" parking passes at the kiosk without having to visit the service desk.
  2. When a guest registers a parking pass (ie. complete vehicle info and payment online), they receive a confirmation email with a (6) digit claim code.
  3. This (6) digit claim code can be entered in the kiosk to print registered parking passes
  4. If a guest does not have a claim code, they will need to register their parking passes in the guest portal to get one.
  5. If their reservation is not in VRPS, they will need to visit the service desk for assistance

The Kiosk:

  1. The kiosk is typically positioned in a central location in the lobby
  2. Signage is provided to hang in the lobby and above the kiosk explaining how it works

The Service Desk:

In the VRPAccess dashboard, "claim codes" are listed on each reservation and parking pass

  1. The service desk should not need to do anything with claim codes at this point unless the kiosk is not working and someone shows up at the desk with a claim code for a registered pass to be printed.
  2. Again, only registered parking passes show up in the kiosk with a claim code
  3. The service desk software shows a claim code for all reservations and individual passes even if they are not yet registered
  4. If you enter a claim code into the kiosk it will only show the pass to print if it has been registered
  5. You can search claim codes in the search on your dashboard, if needed.
  6. The screenshot below shows where the "reservation claim code" is on the left column of a reservation screen and the "pass claim code" in the pass dropdown
  7. If the guest pre-registers multiple passes before they arrive, they are able to enter the master reservation claim code from their confirmation email and print all of them at the kiosk.
  8. The kiosk only allows a parking pass to be printed a single time in the kiosk.  If a guest enters the claim code again it will show a pass as printed the second time.  They will need to visit the service desk to have another one printed.

Kiosk Maintenance:

  1. The kiosk holds about 800 parking passes in it at a time.  If you have a stack of 1000, you will want to remove about 20% for best performance.
  2. The kiosk parking pass paper is exactly the same as the stacks used in the BOCA printers behind the counter, if you have one.
  3. You will need to routinely check the kiosk to see if paper is close to running out

Adding More Paper:

  1. Insert the kiosk key in the top back of the kiosk and turn to open the casing
  2. The front of the kiosk leans forward exposing the inside
  3. Get a stack of parking pass paper and position it vertically to insert into the kiosk paper cradle
  4. Place the stack of parking paper vertically into the kiosk
  5. Be sure the logo and bars on the parking paper are facing front when you pull it up toward the printer
  6. Feed the paper through the hole behind the printer and above the bar at the top
  7. Run the paper over the rolling bar and insert into the kiosk as seen in the video below.  Be sure the logo and bars
  8. Slowly push the paper into the printer opening until it grabs the paper and positions it correctly
  9. Print a test using the small black button on the right side if desired
  10. Close the kiosk casing the lock with the key
